Before Europeans settle down in Colorado, Native American tribes inhabited the state. Apache, who falls under these American tribes, who inhabited eastern plains in 18th century. Later, they migrated towards Arizona, Texas and New Mexico. However, they relocated to Colordao in 1860s. In addition to that, a number of valleys were inhabited by the Shoshoni. The Yampa River Valley, which is located in the Northern part of the state, was also inhabited by them till late 19th century.
