There are thousand of Hiking Trails in Colorado. It was a matter of time I started posting about the many different hiking areas. I thought I would start our first hiking post on Hanging Lake in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. You will reach Hanging Lake in about an hour of hiking. If you like hiking and viewing the beautiful scenery in Colorado I would make this Hike top of your list.

Hanging Lake is indeed beautiful and easy to reach, being right along I-70, but I’m curious: Why post this in January? While it’s not croweded, it can be really dicey, especially during a snowy winter such as this.

I was actually getting my list of hiking destinations ready for the spring/summer. I make a list of 10 new places I want to go hiking in the beginning of the year and try and visit them all. I agree hiking in the winter can be treacherous and I recommend being extra cautious before winter hiking.
Wow! That is one nice lake. Even looking at the photo makes me feel refreshed.
I thought Haning Lake was beautiful; a very easy hike…for those who are looking for similar pristine beauty, look into Avalanche Lake near Redstone (near the base of Capitol Peak). The hike is a lot longer (plan on camping), but the payoff makes it well worth it!
