June 7-8 and 14-15, 1:00-4:00 PM
Environmental writing is a growing trend in publishing today…and no wonder. Feeling deeply connected to issues and places demands expression. Many nature-lovers seek a way to communicate their ideas/bonds/hopes to a larger audience.
In this fun and intensive workshop, we’ll look at what contemporary nature writers are doing, how they’re doing it, and to what effect. Then we’ll focus on how to make others care about what you care about, and how to convey information through the use of story and humor. The class will also cover publishing and submission tips, as well as an overview of environmental magazines and newspapers. Led by Laura Pritchett, author of Sky Bridge and Hell’s Bottom, Colorado and frequent contributor to 5280 Magazine.
