Carrying on the legacy of perfect skiing that the mountains and terrains in Colorado are known for,the Echo mountain park offers a sensational skiing experience that one can hardly forget.It is a resort that has been specially designed to cater to the needs of the younger generation who are adventurous and fun loving in nature.
Echo Park History
Echo Mountain Park is built on the ashses of the famous Sqaw Pass Ski Area which was the brainchild of an adventurous gentleman named Tom Crighton who first introduced skiing in this area in 1960 by installing two rope tows.Later on a T-bar was installed to facilitate skiing and a lodge area was constructed to serve the needs of the local residents.But it unfortunately met with a silent death in 1975 owing to its incapability to afford the rising operation costs.However,it tasted a revival when it was purchased by the Pettit family of Colorado who were keen on rebuilding the Ski area and this endeavour contributed to the making of the famous Echo Mountain Park Resort.
Location of Echo Mountain Park
In the Clear Creek County region of Colorado in the city of Evergreen,the Echo Mountain Park with a huge area of 75 acres is located within the Araphoe National Forest and gives a view of the Northern side of the Chief Mountain at an elevation of 11,709 feet.
Special Features & Attractions
Being a very recent product the Echo National Park has been able to clinch the title of being the closest,cheapest & the freshest ski and ride area of Denver. It possess multiple terrain parks and gladed runs where it offers night skiing as well.Commercially it attracts all by playing music through speakers which creates a mind-soothing environment for all.The lodgings are industrially and technologically advanced featuring modern windows, highly furnished metal walls and ceilings,and also includes a cafe and a bar.
It can boast of having superpipes,rails, jumps and boxes which have been constructed by the world-renowned pipe and park builders,the Planet Snow who have been responsible for on-snow masterpieces such as the Salt Lake City Olympics superpipe, the High Cascade Terrain Park ,and other such unique features.
Expansion
The Echo featured 40 new items when it was opened in 2006 which has increased to 80.The trails have expanded to include runs of glades and learning centres.It can also be accessed by 3lift systems namely the Yan 1000 Triple which serves the entire park,the second lift used as a handle tow called the Frog Legs,and the recently installed Magic Carpet surface lift.All these facilities combined can handle as many as 2000 people per hour.There are more proposals on the anvil to make it more adventurous in the near future.

The Echo Mountain Park is the first Colorado resort which unlike others is not solely meant for the bourgeois but is highly accessible for people from all ranks of society.Hence,it has been a product of a uniqe time and unique circumstances and is a great reveller for those who want to enjoy life.
