Breckenridge Ski Resort is one of North America’s most exquisite and visited Ski Resorts. It is located in Summit County in Colorado near the town of Breckenridge.

The Ski Resort has four peaks with a hundred and fifty-five trails, thirty ski lifts, five terrain parks and 2 half pipes to choose from.

Getting there

By air:

  • From Denver Airport (DEN) – Breckenridge Ski resort is a two hour drive from Denver Airport. Interstate 70 West has to be taken to Exit 203, then proceed south on HWY 9 to Breckenridge.
  • From Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) – Breckenridge is about 63 miles (102km) from the airport. Interstate 70 East has to be taken to Frisco (exit 203), then turn right and head 9 miles south to Breckenridge.
  • From Colorado Springs Airport (COS) –It is a 110 miles (178km) from the airport to Breckenridge. HWY 24 west has to be taken and on reaching Hartsel, take HWY 9 north to Breckenridge.

By road transportation:

  • Shared Shuttle rides – The Denver Airport ground transportation Service conveniently takes guests directly to Breckenridge Ski Resort. Guests can travel comfortably to the Ski Resort.
  • CME Premier Private Car Service – If it’s luxury you are looking for while traveling, then CME Premier’s Chauffeured vehicles is the way to go. Leave Denver Airport on   your own schedule and arrive completely relaxed at Breckenridge Ski Resort.

Car Rental – Companies like Herz and Avis render their services and provide vehicles to groups of all sizes. The cars are exclusively meant for driving during winter time in Colorado. Please note that Herz drivers have to be at least twenty-five years old; Avis drivers must be at least twenty-one years old.

Dinning at Breckenridge Ski Resort

breckenridge ski resort restuarantAt Breckenridge Ski Resort guests can savor delicious food and delicacies served on the mountain. Peak 9 Restaurant dishes out breakfast burritos, deli sandwiches, scrumptious entrees, desserts and many more.

On Peak 7 is seven’s Restaurant which serves pizza made in wood-fire oven and has a tapas bar. Guests can relish breakfast and lunch at the restaurant and order a light snack from the quick service window. Seven’s Express is known for its signature single, double, triple Burger or a chicken sandwich. The restaurant is situated at the base of Peak 7 at the new Grand Lodge.

Ski Hill Grill is located conveniently close to the ski lifts at Peak 8 and has a superb selection of food. Step into The Maggie for fresh breakfast skillets (served from 8:30am to 10:30am) or sip Starbucks coffee, bagels and pastries at the coffee shop. It is located at the Quicksilver SuperChair at Peak 9.

Depending on your preference and mood, here are some of activities to select from so not a single dull moment is experienced:

Winter Activities-

  • Ski with a Forest Ranger Tour- It is a one hour interactive ski tour led by volunteer rangers mainly on the resources of the National Forest and the resort’s obligations towards the environment. The tour takes place at Peak 9 on Friday at 11am (December 18 – April 2).
  • Breckenridge Stables- Peak 9 Dinner Sleigh Rides – treat yourself and your loved ones with a sleigh ride enwrapped in a warm blanket with a heavenly view of the Rocky Mountains. You can end the ride with an appetizing dinner.

  • Good Times Adventures Snowmobiling & Dogsledding – Good Times brings you an adventurous winter activities like dog sledding and snowmobiling.

  • Breckenridge Snowshoe Center – Take part in cross-county skiing (32 km) and natureshoe trails (15km) amongst the snowy River National Forest.  The Center is located on Peak 9.

Summer Activities-

  • Breckenridge Recreation Center – it a place over flowing with sports related activities and community activities. It is located in the Historic District and is open throughout the year.
  • Keystone Ranch Golf Course – Golf enthusiasts can pick either Keystone Ranch Golf Course or The River Course at Keystone Resort.

The Ski School at Breckenridge Ski Resort offers guests different types of lessons according to their preference:

Adult Lessons – whether you are a beginner or expert skier and snowboarder; individuals can select from many programs such as private lessons, ultimate four (semi-private) lessons, group ski and ride lessons and others.

Child Lessons – Kids aged 3-13yrs can learn or polish their skiing and snowboarding under the expert guidance of the Ski Resort instructors.  Types of lessons given are private, ultimate four (semi-private) and group ski and ride lessons.

Private Lessons – It charges $460 (half day) for 1-3 people. Lesson timings are 8:30, 9:00, & 12:45. For Full day it costs $670 for 1-6 people. Lesson timings are 8:30 & 9:00am.

Specialty Programs- Breckenridge Ski Resort brings its guest an array of special programs such as woman’s program and programs for seniors (50 & above). Programs also include kid’s Ski and ride camps, park and pipe, and Breckenridge Bombers.

Breckenridge Ski Resort Lift Tickets

brekenridge ski resort ski liftLift Tickets can be purchased both from the ticket counter and on-line. Although, lift tickets bought on-line cost much less compared to buying from the ticket window and playing an additional sum (18% more).

Please keep in mind that all on-line ticket purchases must be done seven days prior to the trip. This allows surplus time for the tickets to arrive through mail and head straight to the ski lifts on your arrival.

Guests can save money on lift tickets by opting for the Lift & Lodging Vacation Deal (package).  On-line lift tickets prices for 1 day (Keystone/Breckenridge) are:

  • Child (5-12yrs) – $54
  • Adult (13-64yrs) – $94
  • Senior (aged 65 & above) – $84

Breckenridge Ski Resort Season Passes

Breckenridge Resort Season Passes can be obtained on-line; once the passes are sold they are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Season passes rates are:

  • Adult (13-64yrs/ Full Day Pass) – $1949
  • Teen (13-17yrs/Full Day Pass) – $819
  • Young Adult (18-22yrs/value pass) – $839
  • Child (5-12yrs/ Full Day Pass) – $599
  • Senior (65yrs & above) – $1519 (Full Day Pass)/ &499 (Day Pass)/ $329 (Keystone/Breckenridge Pass)

Breckenridge Ski Resort Hours of operation:

Breckenridge Ski Resort opening day for the winter season is on November 12th and ends by April 24th.

Winter Season Hours are-

  • Base Area Lifts Opens at 9am to 4pm; 8:30am to 4pm
  • Gondola Opens at 8am to 5pm
  • Gold Runner Coaster Opens at 12 noon to 4:30pm.

Breckenridge Peak 8 Summer Fun Park Season begins on June 18th and closes by September 6th (depending on the weather).

Breckenridge Ski Resort deals

The Ski Resort provides vacation deals to fit every budget and suit the interest of visitors. There are many packages available at Breckenridge Ski Resort such as Breck for a Buck, where guests can get an extra night of lodging and a ski for one dollar!

Breckenridge Ski Resort Parking:

Parking facilities are available on a ‘first come first served’ basis due to limited space. Parking prices may change without any reason.

Parking Lots:

  • Gondola South Lot, Gondola North Lot, & Gold Rush Lot – It is open seven days a week and charges $5 on Monday through Thursday; Friday through Sunday (plus holidays) parking costs $10.
  • Beaver Run (Peak 9 Slopeside) – Parking costs $15 (daily) and $20 (holidays)
  • Town of Breckenridge Paid Parking Lots (Wellington Lot, Dredge Lot, and F Lot) – Parking charge is $15 (daily).

Parking options:

  • Free Parking – After 2pm all parking lots allow free parking.
  • Handicap Parking- This facility is available at Beaver Run Parking Lot, Beaver Run Turn Around and Peak 8 Mid Lot.
  • Oversized Vehicle and Overnight Parking- You need a special pass from the town of Breckenridge to park oversized vehicles and to park overnight. Visit the official website for more details.

Parking passes:

  • Beaver Run Pass (Peak 9) – It is authorized by Beaver Run Lot and costs $349 from Monday through Thursday
  • Beaver Run & Gondola Combo Pass – this pass is valid seven days a week and costs $499. The pass can be utilized only at Beaver Run, Gondola South and Gondola North.
  • Gondola Pass – this pass costs $159 and can be used seven days a week. The Gondola Pass is applicable only in Gondola North and Gondola South.

Please note that parking space can not be assured even to those holding Passes.
