Steamboat Ski Resort is a majestic and major ski area in Northwestern Colorado. The Ski Resort is operated by the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation of Steamboat Springs city.
Steamboat Ski Resort is nestled amidst Mount Werner, Park Range at Routt National Forest. The Ski Resort first opened its door to the public on 12th January, 1963.
Steamboat Ski Resort is has 165 named trails, 18 ski lifts and is home to the Mavericks Superpipe snowboarding/skiing, which is one of the premier pipes in the whole of North America.
The season at the ski resort begins on the 24th of November and stretches till 10th April. The ‘Champagne powder’ ski condition is unlike any found in other ski resorts.

Ice Climbing- come and take part in this exhilarating activity at Steamboat Ski Resort, which is the only guided ice climbing outfitter in Steamboat. No prior experience is required and open for everyone above the age of 13. It includes snack and a hot beverage and also provides transportation. All climbing equipment is given along with instructions by experienced guides. Ice climbing takes place at the Fish Creek Falls and takes approximately 4 hours to reach. The hours of operation are from 8am to 12 noon (morning) and from 1pm to 5pm. The different categories in ice climbing are-

- Triples Ice Climb- 3 people
- Group Ice climb- 4 people

Cross Country Skiing- enjoy one of Colorado’s most beautiful ski trails at Steamboat Ski Resort and go cross county skiing. The Steamboat Ski Touring Center is open daily from 9am to 5pm, and is has its own ski rental and retail shop. To get there from Highway 40, exit Mt.Werner road and go towards Steamboat Ski Area. Then go left onto Steamboat Blvd, right onto the Clubhouse Drive and follow the Steamboat Ski Touring Center signs. The various types of trail pass are all day trail pass, late arrival (after 1pm) trail pass and the multi-day pass (4 days).
Helicopter Tours & Shuttle Service- let the Zephyr Helicopter Company take you along with your family and friends on a scenic tour with stunning views of Mount Werner, Buffalo Pass, Elk River Valley, Buffalo Pass and Rabbit Ears Pass. Also get a birds-eye view of the Yampa Valley. The tours operate from the Bob Adams Field (Steamboat Airport) which is about 2 miles from downtown Elk River Road. All those interested must be above 3 years and older to enjoy the tour. The tour durations last up to a half-hour or 1 hour scenic tour and is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Fly Fishing- why not go for fly fishing by the Yampa River for a fun and exciting time? If it is your first time, instructional fly-fishing is present and other levels as well. Equipment is provided except for the fishing license. At most 1-2 clients per guide are allowed which ensures a better and proper personal instruction. The Steamboat Fly Fisher located downtown on 5th and Yampa (Olympian River) is the common meeting location for all those who wish to participate. General trips spend 3 hours on the water and hours are usually between 9am to 11am. You have to call 48 hours in advance to confirm the time and availability.

Tubing- no ski resort activity is complete without this adrenaline rushing sport which can be enjoyed by people of all ages! Tubing at Steamboat Springs Ski Resort takes place at Howelsen Hill in downtown Steamboat Springs. This sport highly relies on the weather and snow conditions, and is open from Tuesdays to Saturdays.
