Denver Concert Band was established in the year 1961. It is a unity of 90 volunteer musicians. The DCB, as well known, feeds our souls with music and nourishes our lives in Colorado. For them it is joy to perform.
The band was started by 20 friends and neighbors who wanted to create music. They use to perform for kids in those initial days and with a hired director they have today become one of the best band groups in the country. The mission of this band is to share their love of music with everyone.
As the 80′s music turned into the 90′s, the DCB continued to grow in strength and musicianship. The band is homed at the Central Presbyterian Church. Wayne Bailey who is now at Arizona State University and Michael Schaff who is now at New York University brought a strong professional discipline to the band. The current maestro Jacinda Bouton introduced from this band a worldly musical flair. Bouton is in her 10th season in DCB as Music Director.
The band regularly performs in front of uncountable numbers of Coloradans every year. Apart from the formal and summer concert series around the Denver Metro Area, DCB also performs in front of packed audiences all across the state.
