The numbers of skiers visit this year to Colorado Ski Country have exceeded expectations and if the good snow continued as December and January in Silverton Mountain, Crested Butte and Telluride then resorts will ride out the economic storm. The industry officials are optimistic about the snow.
Melanie Mills, president of the industry trade group and chief executive officer said that the skiers and snowboarders are dedicated sports lovers and also optimistic by nature. Though the business is down if we compare with few of the last record-setting seasons, but the participation levels this year show strong performance.
October 15 to December 31 statistics show that the resorts were braced for the worst by at the same time were buoyed by good numbers of skiers.
According to Jennifer Rudolph, the spokesperson for Colorado Ski Country said, “People are determined to ski.” She also added “Resorts with a regional and local drive market are doing well.”
Rudolph also mentioned that it is important to take a note that skier numbers of the trade group did not include this year the four ski areas i.e. Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Vail. Earlier the Vail Resorts reported that its skier visits showed a southward graph by 5.5 percent from last year.
