These spooky legends trace its origin from the Jicarilla Apaches, a native tribe said to have migrated to Colorado via the Pikes Peak region around 1000 A.D

However it was the Pickett brothers, George and John Pickett who accidentally discovered these enchanting caves during a church exploration.

The year marked 1800 and thus began the modern era of the caves.Today Cave of the winds Colorado is considered a ‘must see’ attraction for every visitor from around the world.

Denver Zoo was found in 1896, Scientific and Cultural Facility District funding the set up partly. Situated at the City Park, Denver, Colorado, USA, the zoo devours a total area of 80 acres of land. The City and County of Denver owns and maintains the zoo. The zoo was elected the most popular paid attraction of Denver metropolitan in the year 2005.

Denver Zoo started with a donated orphan American black bear. It is the first of its kind in USA to opt for naturalistic zoo enclosures and not typical cages for the animals. The bear mountain of the zoo is the first of its kind in the entire USA.

Post the huge environmental and popularity success of constructing the Bear Mountain in the zoo campus, the Primate Panorama was ideated and brought to reality. This space has three segmented parts via which the animals are interchanged in their arrangement of position so that their smells overlie with each other giving the zoo a more original touch of forest like ambience.

Durango, also called as the Mountain town of Colorado is the starting point to tour the entire south west side of Colorado. You can start the day with breakfast at Brickhouse Cafe and head on to Animas River Trail. On the north end of Main Ave is the Animas Mountain, a great place for hiking. It is ideal in the winter with little snow. There are many points on the trail from where you can see the entire Durango town. You can actually feel the La Platas at the top most point which is about 1500 feet.

Back here in Durango, there are many places to have fun like the golf, fly fishing, or a horseback riding. You can even go down the river and have a nice raft trip. The Gunnison Valley Observatory is located exactly 2 miles south of the turn to Hartman Rocks from U.S. Route 50. It can be seen on the left side of the road. You can park in the parking lot and got to walk a little further to the Observatory. Volunteers will be around to help you. Gunnison valley nights are extremely cool sometimes. So, better carry your winter stuff like blankets, gloves, coats, and thick socks.
